Spring Woods UMC Welcomes Rev. Steffon Arrington
We are pleased to announce Rev. Steffon Arrington will be the new Senior Pastor of Spring Woods UMC, effective July 1, 2016. The Staff Parish Relations Committee (personnel committee) met last week to visit with Pastor Steffon, and we are very excited he will be sharing in ministry with us. We feel his vision and gifts for ministry are an excellent fit for Spring Woods UMC, and we know the congregation will warmly embrace him and his family.

Currently pastor of Wesley Tabernacle UMC in Galveston, Pastor Steffon has varied experiences in ministry. He has served a circuit appointment at Cole Chapel in Sealy, Texas and Downey-Wesley Chapel in San Felipe, Texas. He also served as Associate Pastor at Covenant Glen UMC and Shepherd of the Heart UMC. Prior to ministry, Pastor Steffon served as an infantry officer with the 502nd Infantry Regiment stationed in Berlin, Germany and worked in international transportation as an agent for 15 years.

Pastor Steffon believes the most important thing you should know is that he loves serving God. He says, “We all have a responsibility to share God’s love, not just with our family and friends, but also with those whom we may not even know we are sharing our faith.” He has a passion to share God’s saving grace with those who don’t know Him and to be in relational ministry with the ‘least of these.’

Pastor Steffon is excited about being at Spring Woods UMC, and he looks forward to getting to know everyone. Pastor Steffon is married to Renee, who is an educator, and they have two daughters – Brittani who lives in Dallas, and Kaela who is a freshman at Lamar University.

As a reminder, Rev. Susan Grittman will be our interim Pastor beginning May 9 until Rev. Arrington arrives.

Blessings,
